Hey, we went to Kirtland, OH today. It was a pretty cool. The visitor's center was nice but I was disappointed to see how The Community of Christ Church does not care for the temple very well. Either way it was a good time with the family after not seeing them too much last month.

We were a little surprised when we first saw the temple, too. Not very well cared for, despite the $2/person "restoration fee." I guess you get used to how well our church keeps up its property and take it for granted until you see other churches' properties. It was still a good experience to see the temple. The same was true at Independence, MO. Liberty Jail was pretty interesting. The Community of Christ's temple there was also very interesting--worth a visit if in the area.
Shyler, How come the church doesn't buy the temple? Did they talk about that when you were there? Seems like if we wanted to purchase it and restore it it could be done easily.
I don't know Jeremy. It might be that it is the only source of income for the community of christ church in this area. $2 a head is not that much though, but who knows?
